This week's outside learning came from my CE's planning period. I was walked through, a little more in depth, with the new system that they are using for their Gradebooks. I was also shown how my CE makes all of her test, quizzes, homework assignments, and worksheet that she uses in class, and it's all on a software that the school provides. I'm so glad that I was able to become familiarized with these softwares early in the year, so that I can keep learning more information, so that I am able to utilize it when I teach.
This first tweet, matches up with NCTCS 1 based on being a leader in our school system. We need to be leaders for our students to look up to, and we need to be the voice for our students. Communication is key, whether it's staying in touch with our principal, or colleagues if we don't have communication we don't have anything. Also, we need to be there for each other, be supportive of our colleagues, stay close to them because it's easier to conquer tasks together than by yourself.
My next tweet matches up great with NCTCS 2a, teachers provide an environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults. Our classroom needs to be a "safe haven" for our student. We need to develop a relationship with each one of them, and build trust so that they know they can come to us.
Coming up this week, I have to dissect NCTCS 1d, 1e, and 2a and so far I have gained so much more knowledge and understanding of the Standards then I ever could. I am excited to share what I have learned with my classmates next week!

I love that you are jumping in and assisting! And you all are all making me laugh with the learning about teacher tired. It's a real thing....
ReplyDeleteAlana, I am right there with you! Time is flying and it feels like I am always tired! I think its great that you are able to attend a work shop with your CE, and even more great that its on something we don't get a lot of practice in. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAlanna,
ReplyDeleteTeacher Tired is definitely a real thing! It is crazy that I am already tired now just going three days a week, I cannot imagine what it will be like going every day and teaching full-time next semester! At least we are slowly getting used to it now. That is great that you are getting the co-teaching workshop experience! I love your first tweet about how teachers can either be leaders or support those who are because teaching is leading. I hope we can be the first option and lead in our classroom, school, and profession as NCPTS 1 states. Have a great week!
Alanna,
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the most important thing, sleep. You need to try and take care of yourself. One of the first things to start slipping from sleep deprivation is cognitive performance. So, try. And fit some in. I think you are really fortunate to learn about that software for you assignment worksheets. It will be one less thing to learn come January. I think you'll make a really great teacher.
Alanna,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love your background!! It's so pretty. I so very understand about teacher tired. I am constantly feeling like I'm not getting enough sleep! Next semester is going to be wild. But, I'm very thankful to be easing into it now. I love how you've matched up your tweets with NCPTS. That is awesome that you're able to attend a co-teaching workshop! I would love that opportunity. I'm sure it helps with bonding with your CE. Have a great weekend!
